To get your work commisioned is relatively simple!

Comission work requires a set of photographs to work from, please check out my FAQS page or click on the link at the bottom of this page to take you directly to the FAQ regarding photo requirements.  I am happy to quote for your commission.

A little Background!:

My inspiration mainly stems from living in the countryside, I was intrigued to see if I could carve the wildlife that I was surrounded by. Nearly all of my early work focused on birds, particularly ground nesting birds such as Mallards. After a while I wanted to broaden my horizon and my carving skills, attempting to carve animals with more in depth features such as hares, bulls, foxes, etc. This then brought me on to dogs such as Labradors and Spaniels, now canine commissions are my most popular orders.

Commissioned work is far more challenging but also more gratifying. With carving birds I am less restricted with the overall appearance, this is because it is a generalisation of that species of bird. With commissioned work I am alot more restricted, as it is not just the breed of dog I am carving, but the customer's own individual dog. The only visual reference I have is from the photos that the customer provides, to make sure their commission is as accurate as can be, it is important that the photos are of good quality.

Over the years I have built up quite an extensive photo portfolio of sticks that I have carved, from a Cock Pheasant to a recently completed Dachshund, extending the breeds of dogs that I have in my collection. There are plenty of breeds that I have not carved, and I still receive commissions for breeds I have never heard of, this not only widens my carving skills but also keeps me riveted in the work that I do.
